It is with some pride that the SBFF Board of Directors announces the start of its Conservation Committee, with a focus on local conservation issues and organizations. It's important to recognize that without healthy fish and the watersheds they need to thrive, fly fishing becomes only a hobby with no real purpose.
Hence, all concerned persons need to have some level of engagement with the conservation issues in the watersheds in which we fish. For most, that includes our local waters where trout and warm water fish exist, as well as our beaches and the ocean close to us. Beyond those concerns, the southern Sierra and eastern Sierra are also part of our focus as our club members fish these regions. A goal of the committee will be to keep our club members informed and updated on issues impacting the regions described above.
Our first meeting will be held via Zoom on November 15th at 5:30 p.m. If you are interested in being part of this effort, feel free to join us. Contact - mrockwell1945@gmail.com, for questions and to receive the Zoom link for the meeting.
